Eosone Rsf 1000 Manual

Speakers have powered subs. I hooked them up too my Denon 3808 like this. I hooked up the speakers to chanel A l/r and I hooked up the rca nonpowered outs l and r to the powered rca input.

I just picked up a pair of these speakers and a RSC center channel. I was just wondering what owners of them in the past or current think of them. The subs handle that bass perfectly, and I know it's not the amp. (proud owner of an ADCOM GFA-7000).

Also, the six inch midbass on the speakers seems to be crossed over too low. When I start pounding out tracks with good deep bass, the sixes tend to clip too soon. The subs handle that bass perfectly, and I know it's not the amp. (proud owner of an ADCOM GFA-7000). I purchased these speakers and have had them for about a year now. The great thing about them is that they seem handle everything very well.

This is a good start; we can go from here once you get this dialed in. I tried searching for some information about your speakers but I couldn't find any specs other than the fact they were made in conjunction by Polk and Genesis. I am assuming with an onboard sub the speakers can be run full range. In the speaker set up menu of the 3808 you should set the FL and FR to 'Large'. This will send the full audio signal to your main speakers including those below the specified crossover frequency; I recommend setting the crossover freq at 80hz to start. You did not specify what model center channel you are using, could you when you get a chance? It's in my sig.

Just enjoy them the way they are. Yes better sound is definitely available and yes driver technology has improved. Not all new speakers have utilized any of the new ideas however so buying something new isn't automatically going to gain you anything. In fact, it most likely would not unless you go for something much more expensive and something that is either dipole or Omni.

I was thinking of undertaking a project to re engineer the Eosones and putting different drivers/subs and crossovers inside. Anyone interseted in starting a project? First, let me state that the soundstage, build quality, and internal components used on ALL Eosone speakers is top rate.

Converting your existing speaker to dipole would require measurement equipment, CAD software for developing the crossover changes or required EQ curves etc and simply would not be practical. You would be better off to start from scratch and design a system dipole from the ground up.

The idea is that, when placed at the proper distance from the wall, this provides additional ambiance making the sound stage bigger. Many Definitive Technology speakers utilize a similar design. Some people are fond of the 'effect' bipolar speakers can provide, however many people are not and prefer direct radiating monopole speakers. And sometimes it is not always possible to place these speakers away from the wall; something that is necessary for bipolar speakers to work properly.

IF someone on the board has truly superior speaker or serious speaker expertise and could share their wisdom with me/us on the board I would interested in any of their thoughts and opinions. They have matching drivers (midrange and tweeter only, IIRC) on the rear that produce identical in-phase information to that which is being reproduced by the front drivers. There are many in this forum who at this point will tell you to run out to Radio Shack and get a SPL meter (me included) to accurately get your channel levels correct, but you can get a pretty good approximation of this by ear with some practice. Run the test tone protocols from the 3808's 'Channel Level' sub-menu and set it to manual (not auto) so you can switch back and forth and as quickly or as slowly as you want between different channels. When you feel that all channels are more or less equal to each other, let's move on to the subwoofer.

There are lots of tutorials that can be found on this site, look in the a/v university tab and tips & tricks tab at the top of Audioholics' home page. For simplicity's sake, put the Supercube in a corner of your room, set the 'Subwoofer' setting in the 3808 to yes. Experiment with the gain/volume dial in the back of the Supercube with various media you are familiar with until it blends with your other speakers; the goal for it is to be invisible (you don't want to be able to localize where the sub is). You don't want it to be boomy either (too much gain).

The great thing about them is that they seem handle everything very well. The problems are that they don't handle anything exceptionally well. Home Theater is what I consider to be their strong suit. When comparing to other speakers such as KEF or NHT, I found that the musical capability of the Eosone's lacked somewhat. Would I buy them again?

I purchased these speakers without ever seeing them when I worked for Best Buy. Eosone had not released the products yet, and we only read the spec sheet on them. I was 16 years old and $550 was a lot of money when you worked for $5.65/hr.

The Eosones would wipe the floor with the R50s and eat them for breakfast. The only Polk speakers that would even compare to your Eosones are the. And as I said, 10 -15 year old speakers are NOT that old. Why do you want to replace them if you 'like them a LOT'?

Is the suggestion in some of the above posts I could change the wiring on the poles and get better sound or alter the crossovers somewhow? I seem to remember reading that is an easy way to seriously damage a speaker if not done properly so I have kept my hands OUT of the chasis and kept them as originally manufactured.

No, it does not affect the crossover. Keeping your hands out of the speakers is a good idea. Converting the speakers to monopoles or from bipoles to dipoles can easily be accomplished at the binding posts at the rear of the speaker. Originally Posted by sivadselim As far as the part about converting them to dipoles, this is NOT something you would want to do if they are being used as front speakers. I didn't care much for the companion center, I use a 3-way Boston Acoustics center with mine. The Eosone center is a 2-way monopole, but one of the woofers is passive and causes it's sound to be off center. The angled woofers exaggerate this effect. My BA center also has one passive woofer, but the tweeter and mid are arrayed vertically and keep everything centered.

I saw some Polk Audio R50 Cherry Each Two-way speakers on sale for 69 bucks each, and I am certain they can't touch a speaker than I paid 1200$ each for, but it has been so long since I bought these speakers (10 years or more I think) I thought I would post and ask since I not very knowledgeable about speakers. They are powered by a Denon 3805. I tried a digitial panasonic amp on them at once point but found the Eosone's are a bit dirty on power consumptiona and really suck up the juice.

My center channel is a Paradigm CC100. I am not sure if I should replace it. If I do, which cc to go with ($500-$1000)? I don't know if this helps but maybe. Yes, I have gone through speaker setup and have fronts as large and the rest as small.

I just recently picked up the Krell KRC & and a Krell KAS 80B My self and a friend can't believe our ears we have neen comparing them to the TEAL CS6's. For speaker wire i am running transparent super with transparent jumpers. I picked up spike for the speakers because with out the bass lacked detail and sounded washed out.

If done properly however, the overall sound quality should improve dramatically due to the improved power response uniformity and increased direct sound relative to reflected. The trade off would be in a limitation at low frequency. Driver excursion requirements would become a cube function requiring eight times the excursion for every halving of frequency as opposed to four times. You would likely need to cross out of them into a sub-woofer no lower than perhaps 40 Hz or so. So probably the best thing to do is.nothing!

This was a standout in 1996. Plenty of unexaggerated bass and superb clarity. A significant step up from our large Genesis speakers and a much more compact design. The speakers need to be placed about 20–25 cm away from the rear wall. Our speakers sit on a 14-foot-wide wood floor with no central bracing (a great low frequency sounding board) and a subwoofer would be overkill. The speakers are driven by a 110 watt/channel amplifier (Kenwood KR-V7040).

The excursion of rate of the subs are not all that great. The do not travel out very far at all.

I felt it was time for an upgade to Digital. As for the speakers though, I will never sell them. They have treated me great for 11 years now and I definatly abuse them. I've had many complaints over the years from my neighbors, but they just sound so good when turned up that I can't resist. I purchased these speakers without ever seeing them when I worked for Best Buy.

Another gripe I have is the 'radiant sound field'. I am not as big of a fan of it now as I was when it was explained to me how you could sit just about anywhere between the speakers and still get an equal stereo listening environment. Actually the radiant sound technology mucks up the stereo separation of the left to right channels. I just want to rip the rear component out and make rear channel speakers out of them. Fruity tracks 2.04.

Recently, I considered upgrading to a smaller satelite speakers. The satelites I've heard so far it would seem I'd have to spend about twice as much to get the same quality sound. I think I'll keep that 2 grand and put it toward an upgrade worthwhile. I bought the 600's for $899 and a RSP912 for $350.I also added Polk rears & center.

When comparing to other speakers such as KEF or NHT, I found that the musical capability of the Eosone's lacked somewhat. Would I buy them again? Yes, but boy did I ever get a smokin' deal on them in the first place. Also, the six inch midbass on the speakers seems to be crossed over too low. I bought a set from Best Buy when they were clearing them out and got a set of 'em for $250. Sold 'em years later when I moved on ebay and made money!

I was thinking of undertaking a project to re engineer the Eosones and putting different drivers/subs and crossovers inside. Anyone interseted in starting a project? I purchased the RSF-1000's used over 1 year ago for $900. I tested the speakers for the first time with the Pink Floyd album Dark side of the moon. The first thing I noticed was the subs crapping out during the heart beat in the beginning of the cd.

Pretty self-explanatory These speakers are bipolar speakers (I incorrectly called them dipoles in the old post above). They have matching drivers (midrange and tweeter only, IIRC) on the rear that produce identical in-phase information to that which is being reproduced by the front drivers.

I admit that I purchased these speakers just to brag to my friends but the more I grow in my musical taste and the more my ears crave that perfect sound I feel like parting with these speakers and purchasing some paradigm speakers. I have a pair of Eosone RSF1000 speakers Each speaker has 2 10' subs- powered by a 200W amp in *each* speaker. From what I understand, the components inside are basically polk, who also handled the warranty once Eosone was no more. Polk supposedly sued a bunch of the companies involved in their manufacture which put Eosone out of business. Polk later took over the warranty for them. If you are unfamiliar with these speakers, Best Buy carried them at one time. Apparently they thought they had Audio King customers comparing speakers, as the retailed for $2400/pair. The thick reinforced MDF cabinet along with a total of 7 drivers per speaker and an integrated amp, results in each speaker weighing 93lbs.

Removing the binding straps will disconnect the rear drivers, leaving you with monopoles instead of dipoles. I've also heard of people reversing the connections to the rear drivers' binding posts to convert them from dipoles to bipoles, however I'm a bit wary of this actually working properly as I don't really know if both rear drivers are out of phase or just one.
